SHERIFF WEBB OF CARROLL COUNTY DEAD

Carrollton, Ga., Nov. 18th

J.P. Webb, sheriff of Carroll county, died of heart and liver trouble here 
last night. He was deputy sheriff under Jos. B. Merrell, when the riot 
occurred in Carrollton a few years ago, when the sheriff and deputy sheriff 
distinguished themselves as brave and fearless officers. Four years ago Mr. 
Webb was elected sheriff of Carroll county and served the people four years 
and at the last election was re-elected. The funeral service will be tomorrow 
morning and the remains will be carried to Roopville for interment.
