USA; she died February 11, 1923, in Banning, Carroll County, Georgia, USA, age 
21 yrs, 2 months, and 12 days.  She is buried in the church cemetery at Clem 
United Methodist Church, in Clem, Carroll County, Georgia, USA.  

At the time of her death, Velma Leona THOMPSON was working in the 
manufacturing industry as a laborer in a cotton mill, employed by Banning 
Mills, Banning, Carroll County, Georgia, USA as enumerated on her State of 
Georgia Death Certificate No. 4199, Banning, Carroll County, Georgia, USA;

Velma Leona THOMPSON was single-she never married-she was a daughter of S. A. 
[Selathiel/Salathiel A. "SAM" THOMPSON, born circa 1867, and his wife, 
Barbary/Barbery "Barbara" Ann THOMASTON, born circa 1868, both late of Carroll 
County, Georgia, USA; both her parents are likewise buried nearby in the 
church cemetery at Clem United Methodist Church, in Clem, Carroll County, 
Georgia, USA;

Velma Leona THOMPSON was a granddaughter of Reverend Francis 'Frank' Asbury 
THOMPSON, born circa 1837, late of Carroll County, Georgia, USA, and of his 
wife, Melinda Elizabeth [thought to be OTWELL] THOMPSON, born circa 1836, late 
of Carroll County, Georgia, USA; both her grandparents are also buried nearby 
in the church cemetery at Clem United Methodist Church, Clem, Carroll County, 
Georgia, USA;  

Velma Leona THOMPSON was also a granddaughter of Jehu THOMASTON and his wife, 
Martha HILL THOMASTON, parents of her mother, Barbery/Barbary 'Barbara' Ann 
THOMASTON THOMPSON;

Velma Leona THOMPSON was a great granddaughter of [Rev.] Chesley/Chestley 
[Charles B.] THOMPSON, born circa 1804, and his wife, Mary Ann 'Polly' 
HUDGENS, born circa 1813, both late of Georgia; 

Velma Leona THOMPSON was a great great granddaughter of North Carolina 
Revolutionary War Veteran William HUDGENS and his wife Martha UNKNOWN HUDGENS, 
and a great great granddaughter of Henry THOMPSON, d. 1817-1826, Jasper 
County, Georgia, USA....
