State of Georgia, Carroll County
To any Minister of the Gospel, Judge, or Justice of the Peace to Celebrate: 
You are hereby authorized to join in the Honorable State of Matrimony, Wm P.
Maldin and Faleby J. Smith, according to the Rites of your Church, provided
there be no lawful cause to obstruct the same according to the Constitution and
Laws of this State, and for so doing this shall be your sufficient license.
Given under my hand and seal, this 26th day of Dec. 1850

I Hereby Certify, That Wm P. Maldin and Faleby J. Smith were joined together in
the Holy Bans of Matrimony, on the 26th day of December 1850, by me.

License and return viewed at the Georgia Department of Archives and History on
25 March 2005; Drawer 173, Box 19; Carroll County, Georgia Probate Court,
Marriage Book C. No page numbers or certificate numbers seen. Book C is a
transcription of earlier marriage records, as indicated at the beginning of the
microfilm. The forms are pre-printed, fill-in-the-blank type forms.

Please note: to my knowledge, I am no relation to this William P. Maldin;
however, I do have Mauldin ancestors from Forsyth County, Georgia and Pickens
County, South Carolina. One collateral Mauldin relative was named Falbia, so
this license caught my eye while I was researching another line in Carroll Co.
GA records. Feel free to e-mail me to see if we can find out if this Maldin and
mine connect somewhere.
