This Indenture made and entered into the 27th of December in the year 1843 
between Sarah Striplin of the place above written, of the one part, as 
Administratrix on the estate of William Striplin, deceased, and James L. 
Finley, of the County of Cherokee, and said State of the other part, 
witnesseth, that the said Sary Striplin as the administratrix on the estate 
Wm. Striplin, deceased, for and in consideration of Two Hundred Dollars in 
hand paid at and before the sealing of these presents the recpt whereof is 
hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold and delivered unto said 
James L. Finley, all that parcel of land containing three hundred and twenty 
acres, more or less known and distinguished by lots no. 138 & 139 in the 23rd 
Dist and Second Section of originally Cherokee but now Cass County.

To have and to hold with all and singular the rights, members and 
appurtenances whatsoever in anywise belonging to the said bargained premises 
to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of him, the said James L. Finley on 
the estate of Wm. Striplin, dec'd, shall and will warrant and forever defend 
the right and title against herself, her heirs and assigns, and all and every 
other person or persons lawfully claiming.

In witness whereof the said Sary hath herto set her hand affixed her seal the 
day and date above written.
