He attended the public schools of Charlton County and was a member of Pickney Chapel United Methodist Church. He worked in the logging industry until his retirement. SURVIVORS: Vanessa Brown; four sons, John Earl Buie of South Carolina, Obie Lee Lock of Detroit, Wilbur Spatcher Jr. and John E. Buie, both of Folkston; five daughters, Gloria Spatcher of St. Marys, Shirley Ann Spatcher of Detroit, Tammy Spatcher of Jesup, Pauline Spatcher and Savonya Spatcher, both of Detroit; five brothers, Owen Spatcher of Folkston, Elvis Spatcher, Leroy Spatcher and Jabie Spatcher, all of Jacksonville, Fla., Billy Joe Spatcher of Newark, N.J.; six sisters, Mariah Wright of Calhan, Fla., Zoie Brown and Florence Neeley, both of Folkston, Lavern Davis of Milwaukee, Lillie Dent of Brunswick and Viola Stephen of Savannah; and an aunt.
