                              Todd
 Mrs. Merlyn Huling Tood, 73, of Folkston, died Monday March 24, 1997 at 
Methodist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla. She was a native and life long 
resident of Charlton County, and retired in 1989 after 42 years as a Public 
Health Nurse for Charlton County Health Department. She was a 2nd Lt. with the 
US Army Nursing Corps. during World War II. She was a member of the Women's 
World War II Memorial Committee in Washington, DC. She was a member of the VFW 
Post 9560., The American Legion, and AARP. She was a Registered Nurse and the 
Salutatorian of the 1941 Class of Charlton County High School. She was the 
daughter of the late James Oscar Huling and Mary Geneva Woolard Huling. She 
attended the Macon City Hospital School of Nursing from 1941-1944.
 Survivors include her husband, Monroe "Bo" Todd of Folkston, Ga.; 1 sons, 
George Coleman of Atlanta, Ga.; 6 grandchildren; Garrin Coleman, Ginger 
Coleman, Thomas Parker, Christopher Parker, Mandy Conner, and John Conner.
 Services wereheld on Wednesday, March 26, 1997 at 2:00pm at the Shepard 
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dave Maderis and Rev. Alice Chancey and Rev. 
Paul Harper officiating. Burial followed in Pineview Cemetery with full 
military honors.
 The family received friends from 6:00 to 9:00pm Tuesday March 25, 1997 at the 
Shepard Funeral Home.

Merlyn was born 16 Apr 1923. Her first husband was George Marcus Coleman Sr. 
Georgia death certificate #900493.
