This indenture made this eleventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six between Mrs. Elizabeth McLeod of the county of Chatham in the state and county aforesaid of the first part and Thomas B. Stubbs of the county of Baldwin of the second part. Witnesseth that the said Elizabeth McLeod for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five dollars to her in hand paid by the said Thomas B. Stubbs at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and thereof, and of any from every part or parcel thereof the said Elizabeth McLeod doth acquit, release, and discharage the said Thomas B. Stubbs his heirs, executors and administrators by these present: she the said Elizabeth McLeod hath granted bargained, sold & aliened, revised released and confirmed and by these present doth grant bargain, sell, alien, revise, release and confirm unto the said Thomas B. Stubbs and to his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land in the county of Monroe in the state of Georgia situate in the seventh district of said county and known in the plan thereof by the numbers one hundred and seventy six (176) together with all and singular the houses, outhouses, edifices, buildings, stables, yards, gardens, liberties, privileges, easements, commodities, emoluments, her detaments, rights, members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revision and revisions, remainder and remainders, merits, assigns and profits and all the estate, might, title, interest, property, or possession, claim and demand whatsoever in law or in equity of her the said Elizabeth McLeod in & to said tract or parcel of land and premises of in, or to the or any part or parcel thereof with the appurtenances. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land & premises and all and singular, other the premises hereby granted, bargained, sold aliened and confirmed, with the heireditaments and appurtenances unto the said Thomas W. Stubbs his heirs and assigns to the only use and behoof of the said Thomas W. Stubbs his heirs and assigns forever and to any for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever and lastly the said Elizabeth McLeod and her heirs: the said tract of land and premises unto the said Thomas W. Stubbs his heirs and assigns against her the said Elizabeth McLeod and her heirs and against all and every other person or persons whatever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
