E 10th Georgia Cavalry. Chatham County, Georgia. Name: James B. Flynt Where do you reside? South Georgia. How long a resident? Born and raised in state, 63 years. Did you enlist in the Confederate States? State Troops first June 1864. Was wounded on August 18. When, where, and in what Company and Regiment? In the fall of 1864, Co # 10th Georgia Cavalry, Young's Brigade. How long did you remain in military service? Until the surrender. Where were you and your Company at the time of discharge? Greensboro, North Carolina, April 26, 1865. Were you actually present at this time? Yes. What property of every description was owned in the use, possession and control of yourself and wife and its value on 4 November 1908? None at all. What property do you now own? None What annual or monthly income or earnings of yourself and wife and the source derived have you? Not over 5 dollars a week. Are you drawing a pension from the State of the United States? No. Have you ever applied for the Georgia Pension and had it refused? Yes. For what cause was it not allowed? Not an aged man, no poverty proven. Signed by J.B. Flynt, 7 October 1910. A similar affidavit was filled out by S. J. Jones, who stated he had known the defendant since September 1864, 46 years. His answers matched the answers given by J.B. Flynt. James R. Jessely and C. P. Exley swore that they know J.B. Flynt and that he and his wife own no property of any kind. There is an application for pension due James B.
