Savannah Morning News - June 13, 1935
Benjamin J. Gildea. Benjamin 
J. Gildea, son of the late Neil Gildea, died last evening at 7:30 o'clock at a 
local hospital after a short illness. He was a native of Savannah, born twenty-
seven years ago last November 30. Mr. Gildea is survived by four sisters, Mrs. 
John G.Fischer, and Misses Mary and Florence Gildea, of Savannah, and Sister 
Mary Daria of Baltimore, Md.; four brothers, Edward C. Gildea of New York, 
N.Y., and Joseph A., Francis J., and James F. Gildea, of Savannah, as well as 
several aunts and uncles living here. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament 
Church and services will be held from that church. Burial will be in the 
Cathedral Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are not yet complete. He lived at 706 
East Henry street. 

Additional Comments:
Baptismal records at the Diocese of Savannah indicate his first name may have 
been Bernard when he was baptized.
