Georgia’s Oldest Odd Fellow Dies

Savannah, Feb. 8 – Charles Gross, the oldest Odd Fellow in Georgia, and 
probably in the United States, died yesterday, age 84 years, at his home on 
Harris Street.  The deceased was a native of Baden-Baden, Germany, and landed 
at new York 69 years ago.  He enlisted in the United States army and took part 
in the Florida Indian war and afterwards located to Savannah.
