Savannah, January 7.—This morning Mr. J. R. Horne, the father of Mr. Oscar C. Horne, who was found dead in his drug store yesterday morning with an empty revolver at his feet and a pistol wound in his breast, arrived from Pinehurst, Ga.,to take charge of the remains of his son. Mr. Horne is much puzzled at the death of his son and does not know how to account for his strange act. He will probably take the remains home with him for interment. Young Horne had a very severe case of typhoid fever last spring and at times he seemed very despondent. Recently, however, his business had been very good and he was unusually cheerful. He sent the negro boy on an errand and while he was gone he shot himself in the breast. He was found dead by Mr. John Schwab, another druggist, who went to the store to get some medicine to assist him in filling a prescription. Mr. Home belonged to several fraternal organizations and his death has caused great sorrow to his friends.
