Jeffers Ottis Cone Jeffers, 71, of 1604 Chester St. died yesterday at Candler Hospital after a long illness. A native of Bulloch County, he had lived in Chatham County for the past 34 years. He was the son of the late William and Providence Jeffers. He was a veteran of World War I and was a retired auto parts dealer. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lila Clark Jeffers; a daughter, Mrs. Darlene Belec of Walterboro, SC; a son, W. C. Jeffers; four sisters, Mrs. E. T. Edenfield and Mrs. E. E. Brannen, both of Savannah, Mrs. H. G. Keel of Lyons, and Mrs. H. L. Taylor of Swainsboro; four brothers, O. F. Jeffers and H. G. Jeffers, both of Savannah, J. E. Jeffers of Bloomingdale, and J. H. Jeffers of Plant City, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Fountain Funeral Home of Port Wentworth is in charge. Funeral Notice JEFFERS, Ottis C. ---Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30pm Sunday at 49th St. Holy Church of God with Rev. C. M. Butler officiating. Interment Hillcrest Abbey Cemetery. Active pallbearers are David Lamb, Lee Driggers, G. L. Schuman, C. B. Griffin, F. G. Brabham, and O. H. Lane. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior funeral time.
