No. 1 January 5, 1900 Page One Motorman’s Neck Broken Savannah, Jan. 2 – Harry Loper, a motorman of the City Street Car line, was killed today. His car left the track while running 16 miles an hour. Loper was thrown from the front and his neck broken. Clarence Godfrey, a passenger, was badly hurt. Loper came to Savannah three years ago from Walterboro, S.C.
