McDonald was killed when the tractor he was using to clear land Saturday flipped over and pinned him beneath it. He was employed by Union Camp, and was a machinist. He was member of International Machinists’ Local No. 23, and was a member of Chevis Oaks Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Helen Barrow McDonald of Savannah; five daughters, Mrs. Nancy O’Brien of Fitchburg, Mass., and Mrs. Hickman (Shirley) Bamburg, Mrs. Carolyn Buttersworth, Mrs. Jesse (Brenda) Collins, and Miss Sherry McDonald, all of Savannah; a son Harrie E. McDonald of Brunswick; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kile of Savannah, Mrs. Inez Davenport of Lincolnton; a brother, George McDonald of Savannah; a half-brother, Charles McDonald of Savannah; and eight grandchildren.
