Swinson Joseph Ivey Swinson, 57, of Route 1, Bloomingdale, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a short illness. The Chatham County native was a World War II veteran and a member of Boilermaker's Local 26 and Fort Argyle Full Gospel Church. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Tammie Swinson of Claxton and Mrs. Kay Ivey of Statesboro; two sons, Joseph I. Swinson Jr. and Daniel L. Swinson, both of Savannah; his mother, Mrs. Bessie Dickerson of Savannah; four sisters, Mrs. Marris Rosette of Slidell, La.,and Mrs. Violet M. Ryan, Mrs. Nadine Douglas, and Mrs. Betty Saxon, all of Savannah; a brother, Curtis E. Swinson of Savannah; and three grandchildren.
