Jesse and Victoria Smith were married in Savannah 6-1- 1919. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Denver, CO, with Jesse's son, Horace J., who had contracted tuberculosis. Jesse left his four other children in Savannah. They were Jessie May (Bandy), Alma Christine (Andrews), Leon O. Smith and Hazel Josephine (Wilson). Jesse and Victoria had a daughter, Florence I.
