She died en route to a local hospital. Ed Lutz, driver of the truck in which Mr. and Mrs. Vickery and their three children were riding, is said to have asked Vickery to steer the machine while he lighted a cigarette, and in some way control of the truck was lost and it dashed to the side of the road. In trying to regain control, the driver is said to have jerked the steering wheel, causing the machine to swerve sharply and throwing Mrs. Vickery onto the paved road. Mrs. Vickery in addition to her husband is survived by three sons, Hamilton Vickery, Robert Vickery, Jr. and Willie Vickery.
