M. Washington, Ewell flynt, Watson Boyd Kneeling - John George Brooks, Ezra Thomas Donald Bankston, Ballard Perdue Made on Tybee Island - Savannah, Ga. in 1925 According to newspaper article, this was the Jackson Rifles, Company A. 121st Infantry, Georgia National Guard which went every year to Tybee Island and also St. Simons Island, GA. I think there were lots of activity there on Tybee during WWII and possibly WWI. I believe at one time there was a Military installation there, but dont know which war (WWl or WW2) This photo shows tents and really terrible looking landscape. My father told me he went to Tybee Island twice and to St. Simons Island, Ga once. St. Simons Island is east of Brunswick, now accessible by a causeway. Also in this area is Sea Island, Little St. Simons Island, Sapalo Island, Cumberland Island, Jekyll Island and many other small ones.
