Bell Savannah, Ga., November 22 – One of the most brilliant social events of the autumn was the marriage Tuesday evening in St. John’s Episcopal church, the Rev. W.A. Jonnard, the rector officiating, of Miss Sarah Shellman Bacon, daughter of Judge and Mrs. Oliver T. Bacon, to Orville Clifton Bell, the marriage uniting two of the most prominent and influential families of the south. The ceremony at the church was followed by a reception at the home of the bride’s parents on Atlantic Avenue. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Ange Schroeder, as matron of honor, and her bridesmaids included Mrs. William W. Sprague, Mrs. Hunter Claghorn and Mrs. W.F. Shellman. The bridegroom had as his best man William G. Morrell and his groomsmen were Spencer Connerat, Herbert Harris, Dr. Robert Drane and Albert Bacon. Little Anne Bacon was her sister’s pretty flower girl. Additional Comments: Transcriber's note: I'm not related to or researching the Bacon and Bell families.
