To the Reverend or any Magistrate for said State.
    You are hereby authorized to join in the Holy State of Matrimony,
     Alexander H. Bailey
     Sarah B. Holcombe Spinster
     Chatham County Georgia for which this shall be your License.
Given under my hand and seal of Office, this fourth day of February in the year 
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 44 and the 78th year of independence 
of the United States of America.

This Certifies, That Alexander H. Bailey and Miss Sarah B. Holcombe were duly 
joined in Marriage on the fourth day of February A.D. 1841 by me, J. G. Busney 
[hard to read] Pastor Sav(?) Bap Ch


Additional Comments:

Sarah Holcombe Bailey, born January 7, 1825 in Chatham  County, Georgia, died 
October 8, 1864, Mobbile, Alabama, is buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Mobile, 
Mobile County, in the William Dabney Berrey Family plot.  William Dabney's 
second wife was Fina Holcombe.  His mother was Ann Matilda Holcombe Berrey.  I 
do not know Sarah's relationship to William, Fina or Ann.

The 1860 census, Chatham County, Georgia, shows a Sarah Bailey living with Eliza 
Holcombe, age 69, and John Bailey, age 17, likely her son.  I do not know if 
this is the same Sarah Bailey.
