THEOPHILUS SAPP

    Theophilus Sapp, b. in Burke Co. in 1810; d. in Chattahoochee Co. Nov. 17,
1877; m. first Narcissa F. Clark (b. March 30, 1813; d. May 23, 1862) July 26,
1832; three children (1) Teresa A. Elizabeth b. Nov. 23, 1833; m. Edward
Mortimer Weems Jan. 27, 1863; d. June 5, 1896; (2) Henry Madison b. June 19,
1840; William Phillip b. Oct. 2, 1847; d. 1915; Theophilus Sapp m. second
Rebecca Ann Mahone Jan. 5, 1864; she died July 26, 1867; m. third Mattie Donnell.

    Narcissa F. Clark b. in Jasper Co. Ga., was daughter of William and Rebekah
Clark (b. May 17, 1792; d. Sept. 5, 1857); William Clark d. about a quarter
century later.

    Phinizy Sapp, mother of Theophilus d. July 11, 1850, age 76. Judge and Mrs.
Theophilus Sapp were among the wealthy people in the western part of
Chattahoochee, whose home was adorned with such beautiful furniture and silver
that it is prized highly by those possessing any pieces today. His courtly
manners and his benignity as a Christian gentleman are spoken of yet, among
descendants of those who were friends of the family, and her grace and charm are
reflected in that of her daughter —a sketch of whom (Mrs. E. M. Weems) follows.
