K. Rogers Mrs. Sarah Missouri Cox Molder was born in Upson County, Ga., where she resided until 1863, when, she with her parents moved to Stewart Co., Ga. where she married W. F. Molder. They moved to Cusseta in 1883 where they lived the remainder of their lives in the house bought from Dalton Yancey. Mrs. Molder was a sister of Mr. Ichabod Cox who founded Cox College originally at La Grange, Ga.; later moved to College Park. Mrs. Molder's father (Rowan Cox) was brother of Miss Malinda Cox who married Rev. Z. A. Gordon, parents of Gen. John B. Gordon. Mrs. Molder was born and reared amid the stirring scenes of the Old South, the antebellum period; and in the evening sunset of her long and fruitful life when the ravages of disease had weakened and wasted her physical being, she still exhibited, in all their native purity and simplicity those sterling qualities of character—-Christian patience and fortitude—which have immortalized the age of her birth. She was a devout member of the Baptist church from her girlhood. A friend to the friendless, an inspiration to the timid and faint hearted, she was at once beloved and honored in every community in which fortune placed her.
