M. Adams have in their possession some deeds for lots of land included in original counties of Lee and Muscogee. Two ancestors of. Geo. Adams drew lots in that part of Muscogee, now Talbot. Co.. They were; Rev. Chas. Fisher (spelled originally Fischer) and his son-in-law, Geo. Adams. The old Fisher home, still stands about seven miles from Talbotton; the house while not so commodious, is built in the same style as that later occupied by Rev. Chas. Fisher's family in Chattahoochee Co., a description of which is given by a grandson, Mr. Geo. W. Fisher. E. M. Lightner and his sisters are descendants of Rev. Chas. Fisher. Another ancestor of Geo. Adams, Judge Theophilus Sapp, was one of the original settlers in western part of Chattahoochee (then Muscogee) County. His well built home, like that of many belonging to the southern aristocracy, was furnished so elegantly, that anything inherited by descendants is highly prized today. His granddaughter, Mrs. Woodie Weems Adams, has some beautiful pieces of furniture from both the Sapp and Fisher homes, she having married a grandson of Rev. Chas. Fisher. Her paternal grandfather, Locke Weems, who lived in Columbus, bought the John L. Harp plantation when his widow sold it and removed nearer Cusseta. Mr. Locke Weems sent his son Edward Mortimer to this plantation, which was three miles from Judge Sapp's home. Here he met and married Teresa Sapp, whose loveliness of face and character is more fully described in sketch referring to her as one of the early graduates of Wesleyah College. Their oldest, son, Mr. Locke Adeems, has a unique clock brought here by Judge Sapp. Mr. Thomas M. Adams,; George's father, one of the most prosperous planters of Chattahoochee Co., bought many of the lots not already owned by one or the other of these families, thus coming into possession of many old deeds. The ravages of time have obliterated names from a few of the "plot and grant" deeds, but data from others, follow. The first is from a deed belonging to Mrs. Geo. M. Adams, whose grandfather, Thomas Hugh Kimbrough, one of the prominent pioneers of Harris Co., liked to preserve valuable old books and records. She has the secretary which he used constantly throughout a long and honorable life. (1) Wyly Edmondson of Clark Co. Weems, who then purchased the George Glenn place in Muscogee Co. which is now the home of Mrs. Adams and her son's family. For her only son, George married at the old Kimbrough home in Harris Co. on Oct. 5, 1924, Lillie Belle, b. Oct. 27, 1903, daughter of Edwin Hugh and Lillie Belle Smith Kimbrough.
