Insel (Insul?) Farr and Catherine Smith m. in Warren Co. Ga., Oct. 14, 1808, had a number of ch.; among them Larkin Farr m. Martha Willis in Columbus. Ga. May 10, 1835. He was in Indian War near Columbus in 1837; in war Between the States and died in a Federal prison. He and his family lived in Meriwether Co. Martha Willis's mother was Miss Latimer of Troup Co. Larkin Farr's oldest son Benjamin m. Abbie Dent Sept. 10, 1867 in Chattahoochee Co. His son John m. Mollie Keith Dec. 1880 in Meriwether Co. Tilman, oldest son of Insel and Catherine Smith Farr b. Oct. 21, 1809 in Warren o. Ga. m. Dec. 1833 Mary (Polly) Armstrong b. July 12, 1811 in Warren Co. She was 13th child of Hugh and Mary (Golden) Armstrong. Tilman Farr d. March 4, 1888 and Mary (Polly) A. Farr d. June 25, 1890 and are buried at Harmony Cemetery, now within Fort Benning reservation. Their dan. Roxie Ann Farr Slaton also buried in same inclosure. Feb. 8, 1889 in Hamilton, Ga., in. May 10, 1919, Kitty Gossett (of Quincy, Fla. where they reside) dau..of John Gideon and Susie (Kirby) Gossett: one son. Tilman Jones Farr Jr. b. July 28, 1920. Martha Catherine Farr (6), m. Dec. 5, 1888, James Madison Flanigan, b. Dec. 5. 1831, d. Jan, 3, 1914. Miss Martha Farr taught school before she became the second wife of J. M. Flanigan, son of Kenian and Martha Flanagan. They lived upon a farm in section now comprised in Fort Benning territory until about 1904 when they moved to Cus-seta where Mrs. Mattie Farr Flanigan (1932) still owns a house, but resides with her niece, Mrs. Frank Wilkinson in Columbus since she has become helpless. Her 88th birthday was remebered by her friends at Cusseta with a shower of letters and cards. Her 89th birthday was celebrated June 14 by many of her friends in Columbus calling and presenting gifts.
