Gafford m. Mary Christian, dau. of Abner Christian. Of a large family their son, Will, remained in this county; m. Libbie Lipsey; ch. Ida Mae (Mrs. Hodnett Copeland) 4 ch. viz. Hodnett Jr., Tennie Sybil, William and Don Eugene Copeland; Johnnie Will (Mrs. H. J. Wellman) 2 ch. Harold Jr. and Grace Wellman; Mamie (Mrs. J. W. Perrin), one dau. Patsy Perrin; Leon m. Isabel Clegg, George m. Lucile Clegg, one son George Jr., and James m. Ruth Fullerton. Other ch. of Jas. and Mary C. Gafford: Chas., Lena (Mrs. Stinson), Gordon and Grover, Homer and Allie. Richard Wiseman m. Mattie, another dau. of A. B. Christian; ch. Clinton, Cliff, Mattie (Mrs. Fate Waller), Laura (Mrs. Johnson) and Emmet. Fate Waller's parents, Samuel and Viannah Pollard Waller had also Leila (Mrs. Emmet Wiseman), John m. Miss Moore, Charles (dec'd) m. Maggie Jackson; Will m, Fanny Applewhite; 3 ch. Joe, Mary( Mrs. Prather McGlaun) and S. D. Among other families living near Harmony Church in later years were those of Mr. and Mrs. Dalton; ch.; Cliff (dec'd), Corrie (Mrs. Clinton Wiseman), Floyd (dec'd) m. Mamie Applewhite, Octavis (Mrs. Shelly) Aaron m. Eddie Sizemore, Ethel May (Mrs. Will Martlett), Carrie Lou (Mrs. Jeff Sizemore), Alice (Mrs. Joe Waller), Ada (Mrs. Tommie Clark Pate). Mr. and Mrs. John Daniels' ch.: Frank, Paul, Lucile, Mary and Bertha May. Until about 1920 the S. A. L. and Central R. R. both maintained a section crew at Ochillee. Their families formed a part of the community life. Among those on S. A. L. were Mr. and Mrs. Robertson whose children are (1) Chas. G. m. Fanny Layfield, (2) Claude (dec'd). (3 )Forest, (4) Dora, (5) Grace. (6) Darthudlia, (7) Jack, and one or two others. They were followed by Mr. and Mrs. Hinton Martin, names in Majors records. Mr. Wells Bailey was foreman of this crew on C. Ry. for a quarter of a century. He and his wife were well known throughout the western part of the county and liked by all who knew them. When this crew was combined with another in 1921 they removed to their native state of Ohio, but have kept a warm place in their hearts for Chattahoochee Co.
