GORDY

    Wilson Gordy b. Jan. 30, 1801; d. June 21, 1890; m. 1st Mary Scott in
Baldwin Co., Ga. (See Scott record). They joined the Baptist Church in Baldwin
Co. in 1828.

    In 1833 Wilson Gordy moved to Muscogee (Chattahoochee) Co. After the death
of Mary Scott Gordy he m. Martha Sheffield who d. in Cusseta Oct 2, 1918.

    Ch. Of Wilson and Mary Scott Gordy: John, oldest child, d. when 16 years of
age; James Thomas b. Nov. 13, 1828, in Baldwin Co., Ga., d. Oct. 10, 1889, m.
Oct. 26, 1854. Harriet Emily Helms b. July 28. 1836. d. Feb. 14, 1884; Sarah
Rebecca m. John.H. Webb May 22 1852, d. in Tenn. (John H. Webb ..was son of
Isaac and Palatyse G. Webb); Crockett d. at 14 years of age; William, k. in
Civil war; Gilbert Perry m. Martha S. George Sept. 30, 1859, d. Oct. 4, 1864,
from wounds received in battle. Their only child, Mrs. Carrie Gordy Parks, lives
in Elk City, Okla.

    Green, bachelor; reported to be wealthy; robbed and killed in La.

    Henry M. b. June 7, 1837. d. Sept. 22, 1927; m. March 9, 1870.

    Sally A. E. Shipp b. Oct. 8, 1843, d. July 28, 1910; dau. of David E. Shipp;
had one sister, Ephsie Shipp, who m. Richard G. Hobbs and d. within a few years.

    Mary A. Gordy, b. Dec. 12. 1839, d. July 29,1916; m. Samuel M. Bagley.

    George Gaines b. Jan. 10, 1847, d. Jan. 14, 1928; m. Frances C. VanHorn.

    Ch. of Jas. T. and H. Emily Helms Gordy.

    (1) John Thomas b. Sept. 8, 1855, d. Feb. 28, 1900; m. Leila Schley, Oct.
1881; 4 ch. viz.: Mary Leila, Minerva, Schley and Eunice; m. 2nd Connie Ledsinger.

    (2) Francis Marion (Dr. Frank Gordy) b. Oct. 31, 1857, d. Jan. 19, 1930; m.
1st Jennie Lowe; 4 ch.: Laura (Mrs. Bowden), Curtis (dec'd), James and Marion;
m. 2nd Mrs. Johnie McLeod O'Neal, son, John Frank Gordy.

    Curtis m. Verna Pate, two sons, Leon and Paul; James m. Frances Ellison, 3
ch. viz. Mary, Frances and Steve.

    (3) Mary b. Aug. 24, 1860; m. Lemuel M. Scarbrough; 7 ch. viz.: Claude,
Wilbur, Lewis, Ethel (Mrs. Hodgson), Louise (Mrs. Hunnicut), Nell (Mrs.
Frazier), Martha (Mrs. Smihters).

    (4) James Jackson b. Oct. 25, 1863; m. Ida Nichloson in 1888; nine ch.,
named in Nicholson records.

    (5) David Crockett b. 1869; m. 1st Sallie Estelle Nicholson in 1889; 3 ch.,
David C. Jr., (dec'd) Ralph Hollinger and Rex Nicholson; D. Crockett (5) m. 2nd
(Mrs.) Kate Anderson Johnson Sept. 24, 1896; one son D. C. Gordy Jr. (dec'd),
who m. Ida Ruth McMurrain.

    (6) Charlie Lee b. 1871; m. Maybelle Brierschaker; two ch. Louise and
Charlie Lee, Jr.

    William Mack b. 1873, d. 1929; m. Susie McCook; 5 ch. James Forsyth, Emily
(Mrs. C. D. Kimbro) has two ch. Colemand and Billy Kimbro; Walter Fred and Will
Lehman Gordy.

    (8) Arthur Perry b. Apr. 30, 1875, d. Nov. 3, 1929; m. Edna Spencer in 1901;
three ch. Edna, Mamie and Arthur Perry Gordy, Jr.

    (9) Frederick, b. 1878; m. Annie Kirven; 3 ch. viz. Molly, Eula and Fred
Gordy, Jr.
