Ga. (from census records) m. Mary Pitts b. 1818 in N, C. d. July 1890; Benjamin James' brother Allen and his family (know he had three sons, Thomas, David, and William and one dau.) lived in Randolph Co. Benjamin James, who was a farmer, merchant nad blacksmith, with his family lived for many years at Jamestown in Chattahoochee Co., but is buried at Beulah church in Stewart Co. His wife, Mary Pitts James, is buried at Union Springs, Ala., where she was residing with her son, Columbus James. Ch. of Benjamin and Mary Pitts James: (1) John Allen b. May 14, 1833, d. Sept. 20, 1863: m. Jany. 25. 1853 Margaret McKinnon b. Dec. 10, 1835, d. Oct. 29, 1907; (2) Thomas b. 1835 m. Drucilla Barber; (3) Willim b. 1838, d. in C. S. A., m. Frankie White; (4) Jefferson b. 1840, d. in C. S. A.; (5) Mary Anne b. Oct. 31, 1842, d. March 15, 1912: (6) Columbus b. 1845, d. Feb. 10, 1898, m. 1st Gallic Cook, m. 2nd Mary Grider; (7) Benjamin b. 1848, m. Docia Adams. Ch. of John and Margaret James: Mary Catherine b. Dec. 3, 1855, d. Jan. 3, 1856; William Madison b. Dec. 22, 1856, d. Jan. 1885; m. Emily B. Parkman; Gary Albert b. and d. 1858; Josephine America b. Mar. 21, 1859, d. Mar. 7, 1931; m. John D. Bruce; Anne Cordelia b. Apr. 10, 1860 m. David Parkman (see Parkman gen.); John Jefferson b. Aug. 25, 1861, d. when about 4 years of age. Mary Anne James (5) m. David Pearce in 1866. David Pearce d. Sept. 15, 1880; 5 ch.: two d. childhood; Robert Lee d. in young manhood; Elizabeth Pearce b. March 15, 1871 m. Ben Flanigan Dec. 22, 1895; 4 ch. viz: (family now living in Texas) Katie Lou (Mrs. Harry W. Stagner), Leta (Mrs. Henry F. B. Ball), David (dec'd), and Leon Flanigan. Benjamin Mitchell (Pete) Pierce b. 1872, m. Jodie Applewhite. 9 ch. viz: Annie (Mrs. Ernest Wood), Mitchell, Robert. Dudley, Inez, Edna Earl, Marie, Neal and Josephine Pierce.
