Williams McCook: Annie Ella m. Gilbert P. DeWolf, d. young; Laura d. at age of four; Clark m. Ola Armor. Ch. of J. C. F. and Mary Ann Bagley McCook: Carrie Lou (Mrs. H. G. Molder of Meansville, Ga.); Susie (Mrs. W. M. Gordy of Atlanta); Walter W. McCook m. Zilpha Lucile King; 6 ch. viz: Lucille, Walter Jr., Miriam (dec'd), Susanne, William and Robert deVane. Lehman McCook; Willie Gilbert m. (Mrs.) Ewelle Rigsby. These McCook brothers now reside in La. Joshua R. McCook d. in 1854 and his widow m. in 1856 James Whittle b. Oct. 6, 1812; d. Sept. 12. 1892. James Whittle m. first Harriet Renfroe (sister of Jas. M. Renfroe, senator from Chattahoochee Co.). Ch.: John, killed in Battle of Seven Pines, Mattison m. Harriet Watkins; d. at age of 86 about three years ago; James J. d. 1933, who gave Whittle data; Sallie m. Warren Battle; ch.: Jimmie, Sammie and Warren. James J. m. Fannie King of Columbus, Ga., and has a son Henry King Whittle, who with his family live in Columbus. J. J. Whittle (of Birmingham) wrote, "I did not enter the Confederate Army at first because I was too young, but was in the last two years of the war in Va., in A. P. Hill's Corps and Billy Mahone's Division, Burbard's Battalion. I was in the retreat when Lee evacuated Richmond. -I was shot in the head in battle on 6th of April and Gen. Lee surendered on 9th; I was taken prisoner, carried to Point Lookout and there kept until July, three months after the war closed."
