Witness T. F. Wooldridge, James L. Dowell, Wm. W Bussey. Following data furnished by Mrs. Cornelia Raiford Dudley of Columbus, Ga. Baldwin Raiford m. Phebe Grout in Jefferson Co. Ga. Dec. 2, 1808. Issue: (1) Augustus B., (3) Russell, (4) Percival, (5) Robert, (6) Martha C. (2) Elijah Grout Raiford b. July 2, 1825, m. Elizabeth Drake Monroe Oct. 2, 1845. (They resided in Cusseta, Ga.; 11 ch. viz: (1) dau. b. and d. July 25, 1847; (2) (Dr.) Albert d. in young manhood; (3) Harriet; (4) dau. d.; (5) dau. d.; (6) Rosa; (7) Frances (Mrs. Wm. C. Turner); (8) Lucy (Mrs. James H. Couden); (9) Augustus Monroe m. Amelia Flemmer; (10) Baldwin; (11) Cornelia (Mrs. Nolan Lewis Dudley). Ch. of Wm. C. and Frances R. Turner: Raiford Turner and Elizabeth (Mrs. Chas. M. Frits): ch. of Augustus M. and Amelia Raiford: Baldwin and Cecelia Raiford; ch. of Jas. H. and Lucy R. Couden: Margaret T. (Mrs. Leonard Northrup) and James H. Couden. Ch. of Nolan Lewis and Cornelia R. Dudley: (1) David Raiford m. Margaret Ingraham; (2) Augustus Baldwin in. Sarah Cozine Salisbury; (3) Nolan Lewis Jr. m. Clara Neill; (4) Cornelia (Mrs. Neil Augustus Stokes); (5) Bessie Mary (Mrs. Geo. C. Baird), (6) Evelyn (Mrs. Roscoe F. Johnson); (7) Ann Frances Dudley. In 1872 E. G. Raiford moved his family to Columbus. He m. 2nd (Mrs.) Georgia Johnson (nee Eelbeck) and lived at Eelbeck, Ga., where he d. May 24, 1903, and is buried at Lin-wood Cemetery, Columbus. E. G. Raiford, Capt. Co. D, 46th Regt. Ga. Vol. Inf., C. S. A., Cusseta, Ga., enlisted March 4, 1862, resigned March 4. 1863. Capt. Raiford re-enlisted in 29th Ga. Cavalry. His grandfather was Lieut. John Raiford, a Rev. officer in N. C. Regt. who was son of Matthew Raiford (Rayford), Lieut. John Raiford m. Rebecca Bailey (?). Morris Raiford's dau. Gatsy (exact relationship to Baldwin Raiford's family unknown) m. Rueben Y. Burts who is said to have been first person buried at Shiloh Cemetery, Jamestown. Ch. of Reuben Y. and Gatsy Raiford Burts: Martha b. July 2, 1825; d. Jan. 29, 1908; Barden Raiford b. April 9, 1827; Duncan H. b. Feb. 13, 1833; Eleanor (Ellen) b. May 22, 1836. Martha Burts m. 1st Henry Wynne, one dau. Leila who was one and one-half years old when her father left for war. Henry Wynne, coming home, relapsed with measles at Chattanooga, Tenn., where he is buried. Martha B. Wynne m. 2nd William Slaton. Leila Wynne m. George M. Davenport (also buried at Shiloh).
