Candidates are smiling. Bacon and Gordon are the subjects of political discussion. Col. C.J. Thornton, of Columbus, paid us a passing visit, the 16th inst. He was accompanied with his usual stock of healthy jokes. The new buildings of Messrs. James Castleberry and W.E. Miller are nearing completion. Mr. M.T. and Stella Hollis spent the day with us last Sunday. Miss Laura Moulder is visiting Miss Annie McLaughlin. Mr. H.C. Sapp and Miss Lula Littlejohn were made a happy pair while visiting Americus last week. Their many friends had the honor of congratulating them on their arrival, Sunday the 16th inst. Mr. Sapp is a prominent farmer of our county. Miss Littlejohn is the beautiful and accomplished daughter of Rev. J.R. Littlejohn, deceased of Americus. Their many friends extend best wishes.
