Martha Nell McKenzie Flavin, 79, of Cusseta, Georgia passed away Wednesday, 
January 16, 2008 at her home.

A graveside funeral service was held Friday, January 18, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. 
on Main Post in Fort Benning, Georgia with Reverend Mark Hudson officiating.  

A lifelong resident of Chattahoochee County, Mrs. Flavin was born March 25, 
1928, to J.T. and Georgia Annie Brooks McKenzie. She was Baptist by faith and 
was a member of Cusseta Baptist Church. She loved everybody and was loved by 
everybody. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Charles 
William “Chuck” Flavin, by a sister, Annie Ruth Majors, and by two brothers, 
Charlie McKenzie and Melvin McKenzie. 

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Kenneth and Elizabeth Flavin of 
Cusseta, Georgia, and Jerry and Jean Flavin, of Warner Robins, Georgia; six 
grandchildren, Jennifer N. Martin of California, James E. Flavin of Australia, 
Sandra Coleman of Phenix City, Alabama, Jonnie Smith and Tracy and Ty Black, 
all of Columbus, and Lisa and Mario Tenorio; two great-grandchildren, Madeline 
Narcisa Martin of California and Savannah Elizabeth Flavin of Australia. Also 
surviving is a special cousin Nell Abercrombie of Cusseta; her children, 
Teresa Parrish, Brandon Gollihugh, and J.D. and Carrie Abercrombie; and 
grandchildren, Josh, Jacob, and Annika.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mrs. Flavin to the 
American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or to 
the Hospice of your choice. Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista was in charge of 
arrangements.
