Mr. Jesse Wilkinson shot and killed Mr. Daniel McKinnon in Chattahoochee County 
January 31st.  The two men met in the road and had a quarrel which resulted in 
McKinnon’s death.  No one knows the particulars of the affair, except that it 
was the result of an old feud.  Wilkinson is under arrest.

Glenalta Scraps

The killing of Mr. Daniel W. McKennon by Mr. Jesse Wilkerson in the suburbs of 
Cusseta on Thursday, January 31st, was one of the saddest occurrences that had 
happened in our community for years.  Deep sympathy is felt by our people for 
the widowed mother and sisters of the deceased.  Mr. McKennon was about 30 
years old, and was one of the noblest of men.  He had the confidence and love 
of all who knew him, and was a quiet, peaceable citizen.  Mr. Wilkerson had a 
preliminary trial before Justices D.J. Fussell, J.M. Renfro and George Sapp on 
last Monday.  He was bound over in the sum of $750 bond.  Able counsel has been 
employed on both sides.

Transcriber note: The last name of Daniel McKinnon was spelled differently in 
each article.  I'm not a researcher of this family and don't know which 
spelling is correct.
