I, Caroline King of the state of Georgia and county of Chattahoochee being of advanced age and knowing that I must shortly depart this life; And also being of sound and disposing mind and memory deem it right and proper that I should make and disposition of the property which a kind providence has given me. I therefore do make and ordain this as my last will and testament hereby revoking annulling and setting aside all other wills and codicils therefore made by me. Item 1 - I desire that my body be buried in a decent and Christian - like manner suitable to my condition and circumstances in life my soul I trust will return to rest with God who gave it; as I hope for salvation through the blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Item 2 - I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay, by my executor hereinafter named as I am unwilling that my creditors be delayed of their rights. Item 3 - I desire and direct that my land situate in the county of Pike and state of Alabama be sold to the best advantage, either publicly or privately, by executors hereinafter named and all necessary expenses I give and bequeath to Inez Wilkinson daughter of my friend W. K. Wilkinson and to Carrie Reid daughter of my friend Jesse _ Reid. Seventy dollars out of the sale proceeds of the sale of said land to be divided equally between the two - share and share alike. Item 4 - I give and bequeath and devise to Carrie Skinner daughter of my nephew William J. Skinner, my feather bed two pillows one bolster and mattress. Item 5 - The balance of the from the sale of my Alabama land, after the payment of the specific bequests named above, together with Fifty (50) dollars which I have on deposit in the Cagle and Phenix Saving Bank, in the city of Columbus, Georgia or so much thereof as may be necessary, I will and direct be appropriated to the payment of my burial expense and for the providing of a tombstone for my grave, similar to the one over the grave of my deceased husband, Charles King. Item 6 - If there should be any residue left derived from the sources above named, after the payment if the foregoing bequests I will and direct that it go to and become the property of my nephew William J. Skinner. Item 7 - I will and direct that my house hold furniture together with any all other personal goods and chattels that I may die seized and possessed of except the article devised in Item 4th of this will be sold and the proceeds thereof be divided between my friends whom I shall hereafter name and attach as a codicil. Item 8 - I do hereby constitute and appoint my friends W. K. Wilkinson and Peter G. Wilkinson executors of this my last will and testament and do ___ upon them to see that my wishes as carried out. In witness whereof, I the Caroline King, to this my will and have set my hand and seal, in the presence of the three subscribing witnesses this 13th day of Feby 1889. Caroline King ( L. S.)
