Alpine Cemetery is located about two miles west of Menlo GA on a
secondary county road that runs into AL and dead ends at Broomtown
Cemetery.  Alpine Cemetery is one of the older cemeteries in the county.
Alpine Presbyterian Church, which was built in 1853, is on the site at the
crest of the hill.  This church building was used as a hospital during the
Civil War.  The building is well maintained, has been restored to the period of 
construction and still retains the slave gallery at the entrance of the
building.  It is worthwhile to stop by the site just to see the building.

The cemetery is well maintained.  There are a few broken stones which
could use some repair and a couple of small areas are heavily overgrown to
the point on having to crawl under bushes to record some of the stones.
The cemetery continues to expand to the west.
