K R Foster signed the deed for this home in 1904. It was bought by W A Parks of Carroll Co, Ga. The transaction was made for 600.00. This home was owned by K R Foster from 1891-1904. It was built for his son Alfred Foster. "In 1891 A R Foster was building a handsome residence on Foster St"-taken from the 10-14-1891 article in the Chattooga News. Then 12-23-1891, Mr Alfred Foster will soon move into his new residence. It is my belief that this home was built then. Alfred was the oldest child of Capt K R and Malissa Mayo Foster. He was married to Sarah McLeod, by this time. he and his wife are buried in the Lyerly Cemetary. He was named for Alfred Shorter of Shorter College and his father Capt Foster was good friends with Col Alfred Shorter. This info was retrieved by Bob Baker at my request. Michelle Doss
