C. B. Atkins, was born in Union County, South Carolina December 28, 1822. She married C. B. Atkins in 1850, moved to Georgia in 1859, and united with Bethlehem Baptist Church in 1860 and was baptized by Rev. Jacob Tate. On the 11th of August, God in his infinite wisdom saw proper to pluck this beautiful flower from the earthly home and to transplant it to his garden above, the celestial home of the good where it will add beauty and lead grace through eternity. While a devoted Christian was among the living, it was her soul's chief delight, it was a pleasure which surpassed other pleasures to do all she could for the entertainment of God's people. Many a sumptuous dinner has she prepared for her beloved Pastor and friends; but bereaved friends, you should not mourn your loss for now it is her privilege to be with her Savior whom she so faithfully and earnestly served.
