Rebecca Cochran McLeod.  Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca Cochran McLeod, 79, 
were held Sunday from the chapel of J. D. Hill Funeral Home, with Rev. A. A. 
Tanner officiating.  Internment was in West Hill Cemetery, in Trion. Mrs. 
McLeod, a former resident of Summerville, died at her residence in Rome Friday 
at 8:30 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cicero M. McLeod in 
February, 1963. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Opal Brooks and Mrs. 
Ruby Hampton, both of Atlanta, two sons, W. A. McLeod, of Rome and Arvel 
McLeod of Trion; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; one sister, Miss Eva 
Cochran, of Ranger; three brothers, Everett Cochran, of Ranger; Hurley 
Cochran, of Modesto, California; and Rowe Cochran, of Oklahoma City. Active 
pallbearers were grandsons.  J. D. Hill Funeral Home was in charge. 


Additional Comments:
Elizabeth was the daughter of William Cochran and Lucinda Shelhorse of Gordon 
Co., Georgia and the granddaughter of Myers Cochran/Phoebe Dickey and Henry 
Fleming Shelhorse, Sr./Elizabeth Bates all who lived in Gordon Co.

She was born February 5, 1887 in Gordon Co., Georgia and married Cicero McLeod 
November 25, 1909 in Pickens Co., Georgia.
