M. McLeod, 80, of Summerville, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday following a brief illness. Mr. McLeod was born in Pickens County August 24, 1882, the son of the late Rocksie Pack and Bud McLeod. He had resided in Summerville for the past 30 years. A retired farmer, Mr. McLeod was married to the former Miss Elizabeth Cochran who survives. Surviving are the wife; two daughters, Mrs. Opal Brooks and Mrs. Ruby Hampton, Atlanta; two sons, W. A. McLeod, Rome and Arvel McLeod, Trion; three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Evans, Fairmount; Mrs. Sallie Black, Fort Payne, Alabama, and Mrs. Henry Bridges, Calhoun; one brother, Grady McLeod, Birmingham, Alabama; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) from the chapel of the J. D. Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. C. E. Reece and the Rev. Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot of West Hill Cemetery, Trion. Pallbearers will include: Harold McLeod, Paul Silvers, James Shireman, L. D. Holbrook, Ray Chamlee and Claude Hall. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday. The J. D. Hill Funeral Home of Summerville has charge of the funeral arrangements. Additional Comments: Cicero was the son of William M. McLeod and Roxanna Pack both died in Dekalb Co., Alabama. He was the grandson of Ebenezer McLeod/Elizabeth Jane Brawley who lived in Fannin and Pickens Co., Georgia and grandson of George Pack/Elizabeth Jackson also of Pickens Co. Georgia. Cicero was the great grandson of William McLeod, a Revolutionary War soldier, and wife Catherine both born in Scotland. He married Elizabeth Rebecca Cochran in Pickens Co., Georgia November 25, 1909.
