Mr. Deering was born in Cherokee County, AL, March 28, 1921, son of the late Dave and Virginia Bowman Deering. He was a textile employee, a veterian of World War11 and a Baptist by Faith. He was preceded in Death by a sister, Mrs.Lena Galloway. Surviving by his wife Mary Rice Deering of Cloudland; one daughter;Linda Jean Deering of Cloudland. Three sisters; Mrs Pluma Martin and Mrs Myrtle Williams, both of Cloudland;Mrs Letha Chappelear of Menlo; one brother, Fred Deering of Cloudland; several necises and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec 21 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Erwin- Petitt Funeral Home with the Rev Jimmy Weaver and the Rev Bennie Price officiating. Interment was in Ami Cemetery Active Pallbearers were L.D.Powell, Albert Johnson, Buster Maynard, Harold Langston, J.P. Morrow and Ted Mauney. Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home was in charge of Arrangements. Additional Comments: John Albert Deering recieved a Purple Star and several other medals for his outstanding service in WWll.
