Inventory and Appraisement
By the Court of Ordinary

To. B. F. Logan, C. S. Fowler, Dewey Hammon, R. A. Hemphill and J. B. 
Vaughn

These are to authorize you, or any three of you whose names are 
hereabove written to attend and appraise the goods and chattels, lands, 
tenements, rights of credits, of J. G. Stephenson deceased, wheresoever 
any of the goods, chattels, lands, tenements, rights, of credits of 
said deceased are within the county of Chattooga, and which shall be 
shown unto you by C. M. Stephenson, the administrator of the estate of 
said J. G. Stephenson of come to your knowledge or sight, you having 
first taken an oath before some legally authorized person to make a 
true and perfect appraisement and inventory thereof, and to cause the 
made to be returned unto your hands, of any three or more of you, to 
the said Court within two months from the date hereof.

In Testimony Whereof, I hereunto affix my hand and seal, this 6th day of 
November, 1939.

You, B. F. Logan, C. S. Fowler, Dewey Hammond, R. A. Hemphill and J. B. 
Vaughn, do swear that you will make a just and true appraisement and 
inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels, alnds, tenements, 
tights and credits, of J. G. Stephenson, deceased, as shall be produced 
to you by C. M. Stephenson, Administrator of said deceased’s estate, 
and will make a return thereof according to law.

We, the undersigned appraisers, do certify that, having been first 
sworn by and before each other according to law, the within and 
foregoing is a true inventory and appraisement of all the estate of J. 
G. Stephenson, deceased, so far as the same was produced before us by 
the Administrator, of said deceased, to the best of your judgment and 
understanding.

Given under our hands and seals, this 6th day of November, 1939.

Personally came before me C. M. Stephenson, the administrator of the 
estate of J. G. Stephenson, deceased, who, being duly sworn, deposeth 
and saith that the within and foregoing inventory is just, true, and 
correct, and contains a true account of all goods and chattels, rights, 
and credits, and real estate of said deceased that have come to his 
hands, possession, or knowledge.
