The Cherokee Advance (Canton, GA)   15 April 1887 P 3 April 15, 1887

Dr. Hockenhull, of Cumming, visited Col. Kellogg last Sunday, and consulted with 
resident physicians concerning the Colonel's sickness. He is hopeful, and said 
Dr. Coleman was treating the case just as he would have done. . .

We called to see Col. Kellogg last Wednesday after noon and were glad to find 
him sitting up and apparently much improved since our last visit. In 
conversation with him he expressed himself as very grateful to all who had 
visited him and done so much to relieve his suffering, which he assured us was 
greatly appreciated. He is not yet able to get out of his room and will be 
pleased to have the cheering presence of all who will come
