The Cherokee Advance  19 Feb 1886 P 3 February 19, 1886
George, the fourteen year old son of Hiram D. Cowart, who lives near Too Ny, 
accidently shot himself through the fleshy part of his left arm, between the 
elbow and shoulder, while out hunting for field larks last Thursday.  The wound 
was dressed by Dr. Roberts and Sherman and ten bird shot taken out.  The young 
man is doing well now.
