Bishop McTyeire in a letter to the Christian Advocate thus endorses
roller-skating as healthful and amusing:  Allow me to commend to you and your
readers the Roller Skating. It can -it should--substitute dancing as an exercise
and amusement for the young people of both sexes.  It furnishes in door
graceful, lively exercise, both muscular and nervous excitement, and leaves no
excuse for dancing.  I wish there was a skating rink in every village and
boarding school.
