The Cherokee Advance 6 Feb 1885 P 3 February 6, 1885
Wm Dickerson, who, last fall was adjudged an imbecile and carried to the asylum,
was again brought to town last Monday as wild and crazy as when sent to the
asylum last Fall.  Under some circumstances or other he was released from the
asylum about two weeks ago and sent back home, but it seems his mind is no
better than it was a few months ago and to get relief he must again be sent back
to the asylum.  He was placed in jail for safe keeping and on last Tuesday
Deputy Sheriff Curtis carried him and Mrs. Dowda to the asylum at Milledgeville.
