The Cherokee Advance    30 Oct 1885 P 2 October 1885
A corn shucking was given at Tuck Pope's Tuesday evening which ended in a 
stabbing affray.  Tuck was cut in the abdomen by James Meadors, step-son of 
John King, but fortunately it is only a flesh wound and not serious.  Meadors 
has been arrested and is in jail.
