Rev and Mrs W D SPENCE and little son, of Eatonton, are guests this week of Mr and Mrs DANIELL. Messrs Earl BENSON, Will REECE and Hubzert KITCHENS, of Atlanta, were recent visitors to Mr and Mrs Newton BARNES. Miss Emily KEMP of Marietta spent last week with Miss Mildred LATIMER and Miss Sara LATIMER had as her guest Miss Ruth ANDERSON of Marietta. Mr and Mrs S L JOHNSON and children are with Mrs J M LATHEM in Atlanta, while the former is convalescing after a minor operation on the throat. Miss Mary Alice DuPREE is at Canton for a three weeks' stay with relatives. Mr Leon SPEAR of Columbus, Ga., stopped en route from Washington, D C, to spend a month with his mother, Mrs R B SPEAR. Prof and Mrs Mayo GANTT and daughter, Ruth, spent last week-end in Marietta. The Radcliffe Chautauqua, of national fame, comes here for a three days' program, beginning June 15th. Messrs Oscar and Paul PERKINSON and Will and Hal DEAN, with a party of Marietta friends, are enjoying an outing near Blue Ridge this week. Mrs Amanda EDWARDS and Miss Laura Mae CHANDLER are on an extended visit to relatives in Milledgeville. A wedding of much interest to a large circle of friends was that of Miss Elizabeth DuPREE, second daughter of Mr and Mrs W L DuPREE, of this place, and Mr Paul OSBORN, of Detroit, Mich., which was solemnized in the parlors of the Piedmont hotel in Atlanta last Thursday afternoon at three o'clock, with Dr S R BELK officiating. Among those witnessing the ceremony were Misses Mary Alice and Miriam DuPREE, Grace McREA and William DuPREE, of Woodstock, Miss Rowena DORN of Atlanta, and Mr Richard OSBORN of Dayton, Ohio. Immediately after the ceremony the bride and groom left for Detroit, where they will make their home.
