Tribute of Respect Erom (sic) 
Canton Methodist Sunday School

Whereas, it has pleased our Heavenly Father to remove from our Sabbath School
and community, by a very sad and unexpected death, our beloved young friend;
Bos. Bridges, aged eleven years, therefore be it
Resolved, That by his death our School has lost a bright and exemplary member,
that we tender our heartfelt sympathy to the father who was away from home when
his little boy was killed; to the mother who was sick in bed, and unable to
minister to her darling boy in the painful hour, and to the little brothers and
sisters, who will sadly miss him from the home circle.  May our Father "who
doeth all things well," comfort them with the influence of His Holly (sic) Spirit.
Resolved, That the younger members of the Schoool wear the usual badge of
mourning for thirty

We the committee from the Baptist Sunday School, of which Bos was also a beloved
member, heartily endorse the above resolutions, and offer the bereaved family
our sincere sympathy.  Our earnest prayer is that God may give them grace to
bear this heavy affliction, and comfort them in their great sorrow. 
We too loved him, but

We would not call him from the bright
Above
To weary through a life of toil and pain; 
Our love is weaker than the Father's love,
Our claim is nought to Jesus' claim.
May God in his infinite love and compassion, teach us all to bear the trials of
life, and in all things, to be submissive and resigned to his will.
