Milledge Cantrell

This worthy young man died in Marietta, Saturday the 17th inst., in the 
twentieth year of his age.  He came here about five months ago from Cherokee 
county to clerk in the store of Mr. M. R. Lyon.
He was the son of Mr. Sam Cantrell of Cherokee.  His modest, quiet, gentlemanly 
deportment won for him many friends.  He was prompt and upright in business 
affairs.  He was to be seen in his place in church and Sabbath School, an 
attentive and appreciative hearer. 
He was sick only a few hours.  His corpse was carried to his parents before 
they had other knowledge of his death.  It is with deep sorrow we chronical 
(sic) the death of one with such a promising future before him.  Our sympathy 
is tendered the stricken family.-G. S.T. in Marietta Journal.
