The Cherokee Advance 3 Mar 1881 p 3
Mr. Garrett Cornelison, an old citizen of this county, died very suddenly at 
his home near Sharp Top, on last Tuesday morning.  He was, we are informed, 
dressing preparatory to coming to Canton, all the family being out except his 
little granddaughter, and she noticing that there was something wrong with 
him, notified his daughter, who came immediately and found him lying across 
the bed lifeless.  He, it is supposed, died of heart disease.
