Gone From Among Us

On Sunday morning August 1st, 1880 after a protracted illness which she had 
borne with great fortitude, Miss Clara Duval breathed her last, aged 30 
(sic) year (sic)  She came here from New Orleans some six weeks since, 
hoping to obtain benefit from our pure air and healing waters, but alas, too 
late! Death had already claimed her for his own.  Though being among 
strangers her beautiful piety and attractive nature made all love her, and 
each tried in the mo_t _o_ soothe her dying hours, and when death finally 
embraced her emaculate (sic) form, a universal grief and sorrow pervaded the 
community and many of the ___, accompanied her remains __ the grave.  We 
tender our sympathy and condolence to the bereaved ___ and ___ter.
